A Season of Service
Celebrating Brown University’s 250th Year
On Saturday, November 15 the Brown Club of San Diego commemorated Brown University’s mission to serve the community, the nation, and the world by sprucing up an elementary school garden right here in America’s Finest City.
Sherman Elementary School has a 98% poverty level and 15% of the students are considered transient, with many coming from nearby homeless shelters. The school garden is one of the few after-school enrichment activities for the kids.
The event was family friendly. Volunteers participated in painting, mulching, weeding and planting from 9:30-11:30am.
Ivy Plus San Diego Fall Mixer
On the evening of November 5, 2014, over one hundred alums attended the annual Ivy Plus mixer at Hess Brewing Company. Hess is one of the premier craft breweries in San Diego. Attendees could bring their own food or order a delivery from Wang’s nearby.
